Off-road only

The Freego Nova 5 Pro is not street legal. No pedals, no US e-bike class rating, and a 62 mph top speed that is far outside every class that exists. Ride it on private land, closed courses and OHV trails where local rules allow. This is the fastest machine Freego builds - treat the first hour on it accordingly.

Overview

15,000 watts peak, on Samsung 50S cells

The Nova 5 chassis with double the motor and cells that can feed it. 62 mph, 2,880 Wh, forged aluminum. Off-road and private property only.

The Nova 5 Pro is the Nova 5 with the restraint taken off. The same forged aluminum chassis and the same 72V 40Ah pack, but the mid-drive motor goes to 8,000 W nominal and 15,000 W peak, and the cells change from LG 50LT 3C to Samsung 50S 8C - a higher discharge rate, which is what lets the motor actually draw what it is rated for. Top speed goes from 53 to 62 mph.

Everything else carries over: 380 N·m, four-piston hydraulic brakes on 220 mm front and 200 mm rear rotors, a 780 mm hydraulic fork with 210 mm of travel, a 265 mm shock on 78 mm of stroke, 19 inch front and 16 inch rear wheels, and an 84V 10A charger that refills the pack in four to six hours. Curb weight is 158 lb and range is 40 to 70 miles.

Off-road use only. No pedals, no US e-bike class, not street legal. This is the fastest bike Freego makes.

Power & Control

Double The Motor

8,000 W nominal, 15,000 W peak

The Pro is not a trim level. Freego doubles the mid-drive motor's nominal rating from 4,000 W to 8,000 W and lifts peak output from 8,000 W to 15,000 W. Torque stays at 380 N·m and top speed climbs from 53 to 62 mph. Everything the standard Nova 5 does, this does with more of it in reserve.

Battery & Charging

Samsung 50S, at 8C
Cells Chosen For Discharge

Samsung 50S, at 8C

The pack is the same size as the standard Nova 5 - 72V 40Ah, 2,880 Wh - but the cells change from LG 50LT rated at 3C to Samsung 50S rated at 8C. That is the whole point. A 15,000 W motor is only worth having if the battery can hand over the current, and a 3C pack cannot. Range is unchanged at 40 to 70 miles, and the 84V 10A charger still refills it in four to six hours.

Unchanged, And It Needs To Be

Forged aluminum, 220 mm rotors

The Pro inherits the Nova 5 chassis without changes: a forged aluminum frame, a 780 mm hydraulic fork with 210 mm of travel, a 265 mm shock on 78 mm of stroke, and four-piston hydraulic calipers on 220 mm front and 200 mm rear rotors. At 62 mph those brakes stop being a nice-to-have.

What riders say

Q&A

Questions riders actually ask

No. No pedals, no US e-bike class rating and a 62 mph top speed. Ride it on private property, OHV parks and trails that allow off-road vehicles, and check your state's off-highway vehicle rules before you ride anywhere public.
It buys you the motor and the cells, not the bike. Frame, suspension, brakes, wheels, pack size and charger are identical. What you get is 15,000 W peak instead of 8,000 W, Samsung 50S 8C cells instead of LG 50LT 3C, and 62 mph instead of 53. If you are riding open ground and want the acceleration, that is the whole case. If you are riding tight trails, the standard Nova 5 already has more than most riders use.
No - Freego publishes the same 40 to 70 miles for both. Same pack size. In practice a bike that accelerates harder tends to get ridden harder, so plan around the low end.
Yes - Freego supplies a Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin for every Nova model, and we pass it on with the bike. Be clear about what that does and does not buy you. An MCO is the document a DMV asks for if a machine is registrable in your state; it is not itself a registration, a title or a promise. Freego's own words are that successful public-road registration for this series is extremely rare and they do not guarantee DMV registration or legal riding on public highways and city streets. Ask us for the MCO before you order if registration is the reason you are buying.
It ships free from Freego's warehouse in Chino, California. Freego dispatches in-stock bikes within 1 to 3 business days and quotes 3 to 8 business days in transit to the lower 48. Hawaii, Puerto Rico and other islands are not served - if that is you, talk to us before ordering and we can ship to a continental address you nominate. Inspect the crate before you sign for it, and photograph any damage on the spot.
Freego publishes a 2-year limited manufacturer warranty to the original retail purchaser, split by part. The frame, stem and handlebar are covered for 24 months. The motor, controller, battery pack and wheels are covered for 12 months - the motor specifically for 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. Throttle, lights, pedal-assist sensor, display, switches and charger are covered for 3 months. Wear parts - grips, tires, tubes, fenders, fork, kickstand, brake pads, cables, rotors and gears - are covered for 30 days. The battery is covered against capacity loss beyond 20 percent under normal use. Freego supplies genuine parts free within cover and guarantees parts availability for two years; labor is not included. Start any claim with us at support@motorhabit.com.
It arrives part-assembled in a crate. Expect to fit the front wheel, handlebars, mirrors or fenders where fitted, charge the pack fully, and go over every fastener with a torque wrench before the first ride. Budget an hour and a set of hex keys.
