About Riding Socks
What is here. Four pairs from MSR and FXR Racing, $14 to $45: a thin MX sock, a thick one, a youth size and a knee-brace sock cut long and smooth to sit under a hinged brace.
How riders choose. Sock weight is really boot fit. A thick sock takes up volume in a boot that is slightly large and adds padding on long days; a thin one is what you want if the boot already fits close, because crowding a boot is what causes hot spots. If you ride in hinged knee braces, the brace sock matters more than the weight — a normal sock seam under a brace cuff is what rubs a hole in your calf. Every item lists its sizing on the product page — rider gear is sized by measurement, not by the bike you ride.
