Privacy policy
What we collect when you shop with us, why we have it, who else sees it, and how to get it deleted. Written to be read, not to be survived.
01What we collect
This policy covers motorhabit.com. It applies to shoppers, account holders, newsletter subscribers, and anyone who contacts support.
02How we use it
- Process, ship, and support your order, including returns and warranty claims.
- Answer fitment questions and keep a record of what we told you.
- Send order updates. These are transactional and are not marketing.
- Send the weekly email, if you asked for it.
- Detect fraud and protect the store and your account.
- Understand which pages, guides, and products actually get used, so we build more of what works.
- Meet tax, accounting, and product safety obligations.
Order data runs the order. Site data tells us what to fix. Marketing email only happens if you signed up for it.
03Cookies and tracking
Cookies keep your cart alive, remember the bike you picked, and tell us what is working. You can block them in your browser, and the store will still function, though your cart and fitment selection will not follow you between visits.
We honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of targeted advertising where the law requires it. Do Not Track browser settings have no agreed standard, so we do not respond to them separately.
05Payment information
Card numbers go straight to the payment processor and never touch our systems. We can see the last four digits, the card brand, and whether the charge cleared. That is all we get and all we want.
06How long we keep it
07Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to show you the personal information we hold, correct it, delete it, hand you a copy in a portable format, or stop using it for targeted advertising. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with privacy statutes have these rights by law. We extend them to everyone.
Email hello@motorhabit.com with the request. We answer within 45 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first, since handing your order history to the wrong person is its own privacy problem. Exercising these rights never changes your pricing or your service.
Unsubscribing from marketing takes one click at the bottom of any newsletter. Order and shipping notifications keep coming because they are part of the purchase.
08Riders under 18
Plenty of the riders in this world are young. That is who these bikes are for. It also means we are careful here.
- Accounts and purchases require you to be 18 or older, or to have a parent or guardian complete the order.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
- We do not serve targeted advertising to anyone we know to be under 16.
- Rider content sent to us featuring a minor needs a parent or guardian's permission on top of the rider's own before we post it.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child gave us information, email hello@motorhabit.com. We will delete it and confirm when it is done.
09Security
The store runs over encrypted connections, payment data is handled by PCI-compliant processors, and access to customer records is limited to the people who need it to do the job. No system is perfect. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the required authorities within the timeframes the law sets.
Our systems and service providers are in the United States. If you use the site from elsewhere, your information is processed here.
10Changes and contact
When this policy changes we update the date at the top. Material changes get an email to account holders and a notice on the site. The version you agreed to when you ordered governs that order.
