Freego Electric Dirt Bikes questions, answered

What is the difference between the X series and the Nova series?
Drivetrain. The X bikes use a rear hub motor that drives the wheel directly. The Nova bikes use a mid-drive that turns the chain, so torque is multiplied by the gearing before it gets to the ground — Freego quotes 280 to 380 N·m on the Nova line against 200 N·m on the hub-drive X2 Pro. Mid-drives climb better and carry a rider higher up the frame; hub drives are simpler and cheaper to service.
Which Freego is closest to street legal?
None on this page. The X1 SE is the one that stays inside a class — 750 W nominal, 20 mph on throttle, 28 mph on pedal assist — and it lives with the e-bikes at /collections/freego-e-bikes. The X3 and X3 Pro have pedals and a pedal-assist sensor, but at 4,500 W nominal they are far past the 750 W federal ceiling, so the pedals buy range and nothing else.
How much range do these really have?
Freego publishes range in both modes, which is more useful than a single number. The X3 does up to 110 miles in City mode at 20 mph with pedal assist, or about 40 miles in Off-road at 45 mph. The Nova 5 pair is 40 to 70 miles. As a rule, budget 20 to 25 Wh per mile ridden hard off-road and use the pack size in watt hours, not the headline figure.
Is the K1 suitable for a small child?
It is Freego's only youth machine: 250 W nominal, 15.5 mph, 141 lb max load, 60 lb, on 12.5 inch wheels with a rear disc. Freego does not publish a seat height for it, which is the one number we would want before recommending it — ask us and we will chase Freego for it.
Do these ship from the US?
Yes. Freego stocks in the US and ships from a California warehouse, typically 1 to 3 business days to dispatch. Free shipping within the lower 48. Warranty is 24 months on the frame and 12 on the motor and battery.

Hub or mid-drive. Decide that first.

The X series drives the wheel; the Nova line turns the chain. Free US shipping. Fitment questions answered within 24 hours.
