Super73 riders get caught by this more than any other platform we sell parts for. The bikes look like a family, and the seats are not one. GUTS Racing keeps five separate patterns across the range, and a cover cut for an S2 will not sit correctly on a Z1 no matter how close the two look parked next to each other.

Why five patterns?
Because the seat pan changed across the range. The Z platform is a physically smaller bike than the R. The Adventure series carries a different seat profile from the standard R. Brooklyn and Mojave happen to share a pan with each other but not with the base bikes. GUTS cuts to the pan, not to the brand, which is the whole reason the cover follows the seat's actual shape instead of being stretched over it.
Super73 riders regularly describe their bike by the year they bought it. The pattern is decided by the frame family — R, RX, Adventure, Brooklyn, Mojave, S2, Z1, ZX, Z Miami — which is printed on the bike. Which grip material for a Super73?
Less Aggressive. GUTS names it on the build sheet as their e-bike, comfort and adventure material and recommends it for e-bikes specifically. The alternative, the Original GUTS Grip, is a factory race-team deep diamond that is genuinely rough — correct on a dirt bike, more texture than most people want under a commute or a beach cruise. Which cover style?
- Non-ribbed — one flat grip surface in a single color, from a 17-color palette. The cleanest look, and the usual pick for a Super73.
- Interactive rib — three colors and raised ribs. Worth it if you carry a passenger or ride hard enough to be pushed rearward; overkill for a flat commute.
- RF1 — the race panel design at $99.99, and the only style on these frames that accepts the ballistic nylon knee panel for an extra $16.99.
One thing the Super73 patterns do not offer: complete seats and replacement foam. Those exist on some dirt platforms but are not cut for these pans, so a Super73 order is always a cover over your existing foam. If your foam has packed out, the cover will not fix it — see the thumb test.
Fitting it
Pull the seat, remove the stock staples with a flat screwdriver and pliers, center the new cover front first, and staple center-out with 8–10 mm stainless staples, alternating sides to keep tension even. Thirty minutes with the right tools. The step-by-step is in the GUTS seat guide.
