About this part
A grade 5 titanium rear axle for the Stark Varg, replacing OEM part number SMX1-RW-S-01. Like the front, it comes with a quick pull tee handle, which turns a rear wheel removal into a job that can be done trailside without a full socket set.
The titanium is around 45 percent lighter than the original axle and carries a burnt blue anodized finish. A black titanium replacement nut is included. Rear axles take chain tension as well as wheel load, so check the old one on a flat surface when it comes out: an axle that has taken a set is a common reason a wheel will not sit straight. Recheck chain tension after fitting.
