The Macfox four-piston hydraulic disc brake set is the factory brake for the X1S and X7/X7L, sold as a like-for-like exchange for the set already on the bike. Four pistons is what gives these bikes their stopping power at 87 lb of bike plus rider.

Hydraulic brakes need bleeding after a caliper swap, since air in the line softens the lever feel. That is a shop job for anyone who has not bled a brake before, and it is worth getting right rather than riding on a spongy lever.
