A mid-drive, which changes how the whole bike rides
A Mivice 500 W mid-drive with 105 N·m at the crank instead of a motor in the rear wheel. Weight sits low and central, and the torque goes through the 8-speed gearing rather than around it.
The Alpha is a Heybike commuter e-bike with a lower rated motor output than Heybike's 750 W models, but 105 N·m of torque, the figure felt pulling away from lights and climbing. It comes in a step-through frame finished in Pearl White or a step-over frame finished in Galaxy Black.
The motor is rated 500 W with a 1,000 W peak, running through 26 x 4 in fat tires. Step-through suits riders who want an easier mount and dismount, while step-over is the more traditional layout, and both share the same motor and tire spec.
The one that climbs
105 N·m through the gears is what makes a loaded bike go up things. 26x4in puncture-protected fat tires, rack and fenders included, and a 400 lb payload.

Mid-drive, not a hub motor
The motor drives the chain, so the 8-speed cassette multiplies its torque on a climb the same way it multiplies yours. A hub motor cannot do that.
Every row says whose number it is. Hills, headwind, tire pressure, rider weight and cold all move them, and throttle riding moves them most. Plan a commute around the low end of the row you recognize, not the number on the box.
What it saves against driving
Based on 0.68 kWh a charge and a 35 mile planning range, against a car at 25 mpg. Fuel only, so no insurance, parking, tires or depreciation are counted on the car's side. The real gap is wider than this.
