The plain one, on purpose
A clean moped-style frame built to take wheelie impacts, and a platform with more bolt-on parts than anything else Macfox sells.
The X1S is the bike the rest of the Macfox range grew out of, and the one most owners modify. A 500W motor peaking at 750W holds it to 20 mph and Class 2, the 48V 10.4Ah pack is good for up to 28 miles - up to 56 with a second - and the frame is high-strength carbon steel, built with reinforced rear wheel supports because Macfox knows what these get used for.
The styling is deliberately plain: a clean moped silhouette with nothing fussy on it, because the point is what you do to it afterwards. Macfox's one caution, and ours, is to leave the electronic control system alone.
A canvas, not a finished object
Macfox designs the X1S to be taken apart. The silhouette is deliberately minimal, the battery interface is shared with the rest of the range, and there is a catalog of bolt-on parts behind it - hub covers, chains, pedals, lights, seats, pegs. What you buy is the starting point.

Enough to make the bike genuinely quick off the line while staying inside the Class 2 definition. The thumb throttle is removable and its position is adjustable, which on a bike ridden off the seat is a real difference rather than a spec-sheet one.
500 Wh that lifts out, and a second that bolts on
The 48V 10.4Ah pack removes for indoor charging. Macfox quotes up to 28 miles on one and up to 56 on two, measured with an average rider cruising steadily in second gear. The dual-battery kit comes in 4-pin and 5-pin versions and they are not interchangeable - check your connector.
What a full charge costs you
Carbon steel, with reinforced rear supports
High-strength carbon steel rather than aluminum, and reinforced where the rear wheel meets the frame. Macfox is explicit about why: this bike gets ridden on the back wheel, and the landings go somewhere.
Enhanced front fork
A front fork tuned for comfort and stability rather than travel numbers - it takes the edge off broken pavement on a commute and keeps the front end settled at speed. The rear is rigid.
20 x 4.0 in knobby fat tires
Knobby tread on a 4 inch fat tire - the all-surface compromise rather than a specialist. Dirt, asphalt, mud and sand all work; none of them work better than the others.
Backlit LCD and a shield headlight
A shield-shaped LED headlight and a backlit LCD that stays readable after dark, showing speed, battery and mileage. Hydraulic disc brakes at both ends.
Extended seat and folding rear pegs
The seat is shaped around a natural riding posture and long enough to move around on. The rear pegs fold flat against the frame when nobody is using them.

Range and top speed are Macfox's own lab figures, measured with an average rider cruising steadily in second gear. Treat them as a ceiling, not a promise - hills, headwind, throttle use and cold weather all take a bite out of them.

2-year Macfox limited warranty
- Macfox is the manufacturer and carries a 2-year limited warranty; MotorHabit is the dealer and every claim starts with us.
- Report shipping damage within 7 days of delivery, with photos, so we can file the carrier claim in time.
- The battery is UL 2271 certified in its single-pack configuration. A dual-battery setup is outside that certification's scope - Macfox states this and so do we.
- Modifying the controller or the electronic control system voids the warranty, and Macfox recommends against it.
