Pre-charge Resistor for ASI/BAC Inrush Current Reduction
A pre-charge resistor for ASI and BAC controllers. High power controllers have large capacitors, and connecting a high output battery straight to them dumps an inrush spike through the contacts. Pre-charging brings those capacitors up gently first, and DirtyBike is direct about it: any controller in the field should have this retrofitted.
It works with the system circuit breaker in the open position, providing the current limit that keeps the spike off the controller. Two sizes are listed, 30W at 250 Ohm and 20W at 250 Ohm, sold as a single item at 0.19 lb shipping weight. Fitment is universal rather than platform specific, so check your own layout and connector before ordering.
