Pick by ground, not by looks

Three tires, three jobs

Tread pattern is not styling. The knob spacing that hooks up in loam is the pattern that squirms on tarmac, and vice versa.

Ground 1 · Hard pack and street

Street and hard pack

Closely spaced knobs

Small, tightly packed knobs with a lot of rubber touching the ground. Quiet, fast-rolling, long-wearing, and useless in mud — there is nowhere for the dirt to go.

  • Best on TARMAC, HARD PACK
  • Wear SLOW
  • Noise LOW
  • Mud NO

Ground 2 · Mixed

Dual sport

Medium spacing

The compromise, and the right answer for most riders most of the time. Enough gap to clear moderate dirt, enough rubber to behave on the road ride to the trailhead.

  • Best on MIXED
  • Wear MEDIUM
  • Noise MEDIUM
  • Mud SOME

Ground 3 · Soft and loose

Off-road knobby

Widely spaced knobs

Tall, widely spaced knobs that dig in and shed mud. Enormous grip off-road, vague and noisy on tarmac, and they wear fast on any hard surface.

  • Best on LOAM, MUD, SAND
  • Wear FAST ON ROAD
  • Noise HIGH
  • Mud YES

How to read a tire

20 x 4.0 in

Size

Diameter then width, in inches on these bikes. The width has to clear the swingarm, the fork and the fender — going up a size is not automatically possible even when the rim will take it.

Lower is not always better

Pressure

Low pressure buys grip and comfort and costs you rolling resistance and pinch-flat protection. On a heavy e-moto, running too low is the fastest way to a snakebite puncture and a bent rim.

Cheaper, and heavier

Tube vs. tubeless

Most of these bikes run tubes. A tube is cheap and roadside-repairable; tubeless seals small punctures on its own but needs a compatible rim and a compressor to seat. Do not convert without checking the rim.

The one nobody checks

Rim width

A tire needs a rim inside its recommended width range or the profile is wrong — too narrow and the tire balloons, too wide and it flattens out. Both hurt grip and both are invisible until you corner hard.

Wheels & Tires questions, answered

Can I fit a wider tire?
Sometimes, and rim width is only half the question. The tire also has to clear the swingarm, the fork legs and the fender at full compression with the wheel turned. Filter to your bike and we will only show sizes stated for that frame.
What pressure should I run?
Start at the manufacturer's figure and adjust for the ground and your weight. Lower pressure means more grip and more comfort; too low on a heavy e-moto invites pinch flats and bent rims. Off-road riders typically run a few psi under street pressure, not half of it.
Are these tubeless?
Most of these bikes run tubes. Tubeless needs a compatible rim and a compressor to seat the bead. Do not convert a tubed rim without confirming it is tubeless-ready — the bead seat profile is different.
How do I know a part fits my bike?
Every part carries a fitment code and we check it against a compatibility database before listing it. Filter any collection to your bike, or email a photo of your frame plate to hello@motorhabit.com and we will answer within 24 hours.
What if it does not fit?
Send it back. 14 days to start a return on any part, no restocking fee, uninstalled and in its original packaging with the hardware bag unopened. If our fitment data was wrong, we cover the return shipping too — that one is on us, not you.

About Wheels & Tires

What is here. Thirty-two wheel and tire parts. Commuter side: Yozma IN 10 and IN 10 Pro street tire sets, the IN 10 wheel and axle sleeve set, Heybike Villain front and rear wheels and supermoto tire set, a Heybike front wheel, and the Anyland Rev wheel assembly, outer tire, inner tube and rim strip. E-dirt side: inner tubes for the Surron Light Bee, Ultra Bee, Talaria XXX and Super73, spokes and nipples for the Surron Light Bee, and a Super73 closed wheel and rear wheel cover.

Axle hardware lives here too. Rear axle shafts and a middle axle guard for the Surron Light Bee S and X, a rear axle block for the Ultra Bee, front and rear axles for the Rawrr Mantis 72V, and front and rear axle nuts for the Talaria MX4. Riders shop here one of two ways: a tire set or complete wheel to change what the bike rolls on, or a single tube, spoke set or axle to put a bike back together.

Fitment. Every part here is tagged to the bikes it was checked against, and the fitment badge on the product card shows that before you open the listing. Check your model letter, Light Bee S against X or IN 10 against IN 10 Pro, against the badge before ordering.

Grip is cheaper than skill.
